3 Community Events

If you're in Ventura this weekend and you like gardens, lemonade and movies, then Saturday April 6th is going to be a good day.  The morning starts off with a 10am composting and edible landscaping workshop that is sponsored by the City of Ventura's Sustainability Dept.  It will bring together some of the areas most knowledgeable gardeners and permaculture experts.  Refreshments will be served and walking tours of Cornucopia Gardens will be available.  Cornucopia gardens are located on Telephone road between Johnson and Ramelli.

In the afternoon (2-4pm) some of us will head downtown to the beautiful Color Gardens which is located behind the Library on Chestnut between Poli and Main St.  We've set up a lemonade stand and will spend the afternoon relaxing in the garden and brainstorming ideas for the launching of Ventura Coop.  Bring picnic blankets, snacks and a good book or topic for conversation.  Free parking is available right next to the garden.

From there we will meet up at the Ventura City Corps building for Movie Nights.  City Corps will show a PG rated feature film and will screen the Ron Finley TED talk as a preview.  Bring friends, pillows and healthy snacks. (Free 6-9pm).  The City Corps building is located at 77 North California St. between Main St. and Poli.

We're growing gardens, and gardens grow community!  Come have a good time with us.
